Excellent book. I love it. Highly recommend to anyone. It gives a very desrciptive overview of the life of blacks in America in 1962 to 1964 (which was not that long ago) and how they were treated and thought of.
The storyline and narratives are from the persepctives of the main characters of Aibileen, Minny and Miss Skeeter.
As mentioned on the back sleeve, the book revolves around writing a secret book by Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan detailing the relationship between black maids and their white employers; some good, some bad, and some hilarious.
There is no conclusive ending to this book except the fact that yes, change does begin with a whisper.
